The Goddess

When we were studying Greek mythology in High School, my teacher, the best English teacher ever, asked us to write about the goddess we envisioned ourselves to be. I said that I was Pyrone (pi-roh-nee), the Goddess of Prevailing Persuasion. I thought it was a brilliant name then but have since realized that my sister was right in saying that it sounds like pepperoni without the pep. A couple of years later, the Olympians (also known as the Spoonful Goddesses) were given titles. Mine was the Goddess of Wit and Eloquence. When I saw this test, the divine in me just demanded that I take it. I am now also known as the Goddess of Dreams.

I love being a goddess.

Morpheus

Notes:
  • My essay on Pyrone remains to be one of my favorite pieces. Humor me by reading it, if and when I do post it.
  • The analytical entry I was planning to write will just have to wait. This parking space was too tempting to resist, even for a goddess like me.

My road trip is going great- met alot of interesting people as I have been travelling solo for the past 2 weeks.

The latest whacky happening was when Jenna Jameson- the world's most popular porn star was in San Francisco. I bought her book and went for her book signing and got a photograph with her. Oh well- one of my life long dream of meeting a porn star (the most popular one at that) was fulfilled- i can die happy now.

But the best part was when I met this bunch of crazy people while in queue. It turned out that one of them was a hot DJ on SF radio. We partied thru the nite after the signing. Kinda weird thinking about it- how a porn star brought all of us together. =D

I think your blog makes a cool read- its the only stuff i read besides my emails during this road trip!

Keep it up!

One more thing- have you watched About Schmiddt, i dont know how you spell it but its the Jack Nicholson movie where he pays for a kid living half way across the world.

One hot chick volunteer approached me in Chicago and the next thing i know i am a proud sponsor for one kid from the Phillipines! His name is Edel or something. I am paying like 18 bucks a month for him to go to school and get his cold shots.

Kung Fit!

Glad to hear that you're having ... er, fun in your road trip! And that you get to meet interesting people. Hahaha! I can so imagine you when I'm reading what you write. No offense to your new friends, but I'd still rather meet Kyoko's friend, Tom Cruise!

No, I haven't watched that About Schimdt thing. Actually, this is the first time I ever heard of that. Is it worth watching? And I think it's great that you're sponsoring a kid from the Philippines! That kid will be sure to pay you back when he gets rich and famous some day.

Thanks for reading my blog, Kit! I appreciate it.:)

first of all...nice blog!
one of the subjects in my humanities class was about the gods/goddesses of Greece and Rome. There's this island in Greece called "lesbos". I dunno if you're familiar with it...the word lesbian was derived from there coz the goddess representing the island of lesbos guess what...liked girls!...tc

She was definitely the best English teacher ever! And gosh, I remember my essay as well -- I outfitted myself as Anima, goddess of the human soul or something of the sort. I'll never forget how proud I was of that thing. Haha. See you around and let me know if I get to coach our alma mater. ;) :D

Debbie: Thanks for dropping by! Interesting tidbit about the island of lesbos. So that's where they got the term from. One less thing to wonder about. :)

Pat Suzy: Yeah, that assignment was the best!! Anima huh? Cool, cool! Re coaching, will talk to you about that when I see you. :)
